Beyond Real Estate: Why Supporting Cancer Council Queensland Matters to Us

At the Simon Salm Team, we believe real estate is about more than buying and selling properties. It's about people, community, and supporting causes that make a meaningful  
difference in the lives of others. 

 
That is why attending Cancer Council Queensland's Australia's Biggest Morning Tea each year is something that means so much to our team. Cancer is a disease that touches
countless Australian families, and like many people, we have seen firsthand the impact it can have on loved ones, friends, colleagues, and our wider community. 
 
This year, we had the privilege of attending the biggest morning tea we have ever been part of. Having supported this event for many years, it was incredible to see how much
it has grown.While last year's event was held at the courthouse, this year's gathering was even larger, bringing together more people, more businesses, and more community
support than ever before. 
 
The atmosphere was filled with positivity, generosity, and a shared commitment to making a difference. Our team proudly decorated our table in pink to raise awareness
 for breast cancer, while other tables featured different colours representing various types of cancer. It was a powerful visual reminder that cancer affects people from
all walks of life and that every person's journey matters. 
 
Of course, there were raffles, prizes, and plenty of friendly conversations throughout the morning. While winning prizes added some fun to the event, that wasn't what
made the day special. The most valuable part was learning more about the incredible work being done by Cancer Council Queensland and understanding how community
support directly helps people facing cancer. 
 
Every donation and ticket purchased contributes to services that provide practical and emotional support for Queenslanders affected by cancer.Cancer Council Queensland
helps fund vital cancer research, patient support services, accommodation for those travelling for treatment, transport assistance, prevention programs, and educational
resources for patients and their families. Their work ensures that no one has to face cancer alone. 
 
The impact of this work is significant. On average, one Queenslander is diagnosed with cancer every 20 minutes, and Cancer Council Queensland continues to stand beside
those affected through research, prevention, early detection programs, and support services. The organization has also invested millions of dollars into life-saving
cancer research and supports clinical trials across Queensland. 
 
We would like to thank the organisers, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who attended and contributed to making this year's event such a success.  Events like these
are only possible because of the generosity and dedication of people who genuinely care about helping others.
